The Reverend Kathryn Ransdell

Rev. Kathryn Ransdell is thrilled to be serving St. Andrew's-Wesley United Church of Canada in downtown Vancouver. She comes to Vancouver from Dallas, TX. She is an ordained Elder in The North Texas Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church and recognized as a supply pastor in The United Church of Canada. Earning her license to preach at the age of 19, she is thought to be the youngest female licensed to preach in The North Texas Conference. She is a 1999 graduate of Duke Divinity School, Durham, NC.

Her most recent ministry assignment in Texas involved creating a program called UrbanLife for 20-and-30-year-olds that helped make a mainline traditional church relevant for this generation. In addition to her local church work, Kathryn served as the Chair of the Clergy Effectiveness Committee of The North Texas Annual Conference, 2008-2009, having served on the Task Force the four years earlier. She served eight years as an associate pastor at St. Andrew UMC in Plano, where she preached weekly at the Early Service and developed a women's ministry. She is a magna cum laude graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, TX.

A student of holistic teaching, she enjoys yoga and has held her license as a massage therapist in the state of Texas. She enjoys running, having completed two marathons. She enjoys writing and blogs about her life and ministry (www.nowyouarehere.blogspot.com).

She and her husband, Troy Ransdell, a healthcare architect, are the parents of Ethan Ross and a Catahoula-Pointer mix named Sarah.
